The Mighty Lancaster

For me it’s all about the Lancaster, my high light of the show to see the BBMF Lancaster displaying at an Air show. It’s a pleasure to hear the “purr” of the four mighty Merlin Engines as the RAF BBMF crews display the Lancaster.

Lest we forget the price that was paid by Bomber Command during the Second World War, 55573 killed.  The RAF Benevolent Fund was there immediately after the war to repay the debt we owed bomber crews, and is still there today to help all those that served.

To Honour their sacrifice The Bomber Command Memorial had been built in Central London.  An everlasting Shrine those Men who gave their lives, so we can live today. Mark.
