About Mark Fowler

Mark is a Freelance Professional Photographer, who works from his West Country base in Barnstaple in rural North Devon. He works locally undertaking specialist Commissions and Projects for a varied base of Clients. He also contributes to varied Devon based Press agencies and has had several of his images in both the local and National publications.

Mark started his freelance photography career in 2001, following an aviation accident, which ended his Professional flying career and todate is still having to live with his disabilities . Mark is a dedicated Nikon Professional and only uses Nikon products. He has a vast suite of Nikon Digital and Nikon film cameras and in association has an extensive assortment of Nikon Professional lenses.

Mark has been involved over the last 6 years in many diverse areas of photography and at present the majority of commissions come from the commercial sector, but he also has a keen interest in local landscapes, panoramas, military, wildlife and aerial photography.

Mark’s passion for photography allows him to become involved in diverse array of local projects, from local schools to local businesses and events.

Marks enjoys the great outdoors and outdoor living combined with a specialised knowledge of survival gives him unusual access to the more primitive parts of the world, from the swathes of Africa, to the forests of Indian National Parks tracking Tigers. Locally Mark access to the vast reaches of Exmoor National Park and surrounding countryside, this ability to access the remote areas gives the landscape and scenery in his images a very beautiful and unique perspective.

Marks equipment consists of three Nikon digital cameras, two D2X and a D2Hs and additional film cameras the F5 and F80. Inconjunction I have a vast array of Nikon lens’s which enable him to photograph in varied conditions and situations. I also have some specialist lenses for close up macro work.

In conjunction with the above I have a Nikon speedlight creative lighting system, consisting of 3 SB800 Speedlights, which are very versatile and adaptable and can bring a lot of focused light to bear.

If I require more light, say for photographing interiors then I will bring into play my 500 Watt lighting stands and reflectors of which I have five. That’s a massive 2500 Wats of light which enables me to tackle No just the smallest project but also the biggest.
